Due to the COVID-19 situation AMINSE5 was postponed for an year, but since pandemic is still disturbing, it will be held on June 16-19, 2021 as an online event using zoom platform.

Overview

The Fifth International Conference on Applications of Mathematics and Informatics in Natural Sciences and Engineering (AMINSE 2020) will be held in Tbilisi, Georgia, June 16-19, 2021 (the arrival day June 15, the departure day June 20). The conference will be organized by Ilia Vekua Institute of Applied Mathematics (VIAM) of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU).

The Scientific-Research Institute of Applied Mathematics of I. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (VIAM TSU) was founded on October 29, 1968 on Ilia Vekua's initiative and leadership. Ilia Vekua created a new type scientific research institute, where researchers, professors and students are doing their scientific work, which is the best example of integrating research institute and educational process.

In 1995 on Prof. George Jaiani’s initiative and leadership TICMI has been founded with the support of European Mathematical Society (EMS) and personally of its President Prof. Friedrich Hirzebruch. TICMI is based in the I. Vekua Institute of Applied Mathematics of I. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.

TICMI is guided by the ISC (International Scientific Committee) consisting of 7 scientists. According to TICMI Statute three among them are EMS representatives nominated by EMS Executive Committee (EC). At present ISC members are:

The aims of the Centre are, first, to help young scientists of the countries of the Black Sea Basin, to improve their professional skills and, second, to promote the exchange of scientific information worldwide. This should be achieved by Lecture Series and Summer Schools devoted to topics determined by the immediate interests of the Centre. The goal of TICMI is to be a scientific center for Georgia, Turkey, Armenia, Azerbaijan. Since its foundation TICMI has organized 23 scientific meetings, was co-organizer of the 15 international conferences and symposia (among them IUTAM Symposia and an ISAAC Conference). TICMI annually publishes two international scientific journals: Bulletin of TICMI (founded in 1997) and Lecture Notes of TICMI (founded in 2000). Both journals are indexed in Mathematical Reviews/MathSciNet, Scopus, and Zentralblatt MATH/Mathematics Abstracts.

Conference Scope

The aim of AMINSE 2020 is to bring together researchers worldwide including, in particular, from the region (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, etc.) and western countries, to discuss their research results in all aspects of Mathematics, Informatics, and their Applications in Natural Sciences and Engineering.

In this region, in particular in Georgia, tradition of mathematical education was on high level. The conference will build on this experience to advance the knowledge and understanding of its participants in applications of mathematics and informatics in natural sciences and engineering. Advancement of new technologies is of utmost importance for the development of the region. Scientists from the region will have opportunity to get in contact with leading western scientists, to attend expert’s invited talks, sharing experiences, and getting feedback on their work.

The Conference wants to pay special attention to young participants, graduate and post-doc researchers, and would like to offer them financial support to attend the Conference.

Traditionally, the conference has four sections related to:

  1. Natural Sciences
  2. Mathematics
  3. Informatics
  4. Engineering
